Uppit and Kesari Bath

This again is a something I make for breakfast once in a while and I made this on our anniversary as the loving husband asked for this.



Ingredients For Uppit

  • 1/2 cup Semolina
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 small onion chopped
  • 3 slit green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • salt
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • Seasoning- mustard seeds,cumin seeds,curry leaves.

Method

  1. Heat oil and do the seasoning,add green chillies,onion and ginger and garlic paste.
  2. Once the onion is almost cooked add the tomatoes,salt and the lime juice.
  3. When tomato is cooked up add the boiling water to this.
  4. Boil for another minute or so and add the semolina(keep stirring constantly)
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Ingredients for Kesari Bath


1/2 cup semolina
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup milk(dissolve few strands of saffron )
2/3 cup sugar or according to taste
small pinch turmeric
fried cashews and raisins

Method

Bring the milk and the water to a rolling boil.
add the sugar and the turmeric,cook till the sugar dissolves.
Add the semolina.
cook till done
Garnish with cashews and raisins.

I love upma... so yummy. I usually used to make it the same way yours. But now I dont make it as my husband doesnt like it.
