Sheek Kabab

Friday evenings always call for a nice dinner either at home or out,I happen to really like Friday evenings coz its relaxed,no one is in a hurry, the weekend has just begun and all are looking for some fun and some really good food.Last weekend I made some delicious sheek kabab using turkey and I liked everything about it,the texture and the taste which was actually quite similar to chicken but you can use any meat that you prefer.

Thanks to my lovely cousin for the recipe and for the inspiration to finally make this dish :)

Here are the Ingredients

  • 1 lb Turkey mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tbsp jeera powder
  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp corriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
  • onion finely 1/2 small onion
  • green mint finely chopped
  • oil
  • butter brushing

Method

1. To the mice add all the powders, salt ginger garlic paste and mix well
add to mince and mix well
2. Transfer the mixture to a food processor and blend for a few seconds to ensure the mixture wont break
3.add egg, onion and mint and mix again till well combine
4.Make 5 portions using wet hands and wrap each portion on a skewer.
5.Bake in a preheated oven at 300 f for 15 mins and just at the end broil it for a minute to get the charred effect.Turn the skewers every 6 minutes.
6.Remove from skewer and brush with butter.
7.Serve with Mint chutney and onion rings.
