Been out of blogging for a really long time again,no...... not a vacation this time but I was in India coz my mom wasnt keeping well. Now shes back to normal so I am back home.
I have so many blogs to catch up with and try out some new recipes.......last year I didnt try too many coz I was trying to watch my waist a little but this year I think Ill go ahead and try all the bookmarked recipes.
Recipe for Chicken Kofta is from a friend,no one would really believe that its very easy to make and tastes great.Looks complex to beginners but it really isnt. When my friend told me about this recipe I was really intrigued because the koftas are cooked in a pressure cooker.
Ingredients For the Kofta

- 2 Tbsp roasted besan powder
- 4 tbsp roasted and ground poppy seeds
- roasted and ground spices-2 cloves,1/4 inch cinnamon,2 cardamoms,6 whole black pepper corns.
- salt
- Chilli powder
- corriander powder
Method:
- To the minced chicken add besan ,poppy seeds, spices, salt, chilli powder and corriander powder.
- Blend in a food processor, this will ensure that it wont break.
- Add 2-3 tbsp of water
- Wet palms and make lemon sized balls.
For the Gravy
- 1 medium sized onion
- 2 tbsp garlic paste
- Jeera
- salt
- Turmeric
- Chilli powder
- Corriander powder
- Corriander leaves for garnish (optional)
Method:
- Brown onions in a pressure cooker when brown add kofta.
- followed by garlic when aromatic add all the other ingredients fry for a minute and add 3/4 -1 cup of water.
- Pressure cook for 5 minutes.
- Once the lid is open ,there will be no water or very little water, fry for 2-3 minutes till it thickens.
- Add 3/4 c water and gently stir the gravy .
